Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
as a matter of routine, we would like to provide you with an overview of current and upcoming events within our rail operations. This includes information from the area of the network operator as well as information from the environment of the connected seaport terminals.
- Dispositive inflow control in Hamburg has remained in effect without change since March 10, 2026. Trains are sometimes denied entry into the Hamburg rail network.
- Dispositive inflow control in Bremerhaven has remained in effect without change since May 10, 2026. Trains are sometimes denied entry into the Bremerhaven rail network.
- The second phase of the Fulda construction project began on July 11, 2026, and is scheduled to last until July 30, 2026. We have received some special train paths with extensive detours, but we are still awaiting a large number of responses from InfraGo.
- Closure of the right-hand track on the Rhinepassing from July 10 to September 11, 2026
- The comprehensive renovation between Nuremberg and Regensburg has been extended from July 10 to July 31, 2026.
Other incidents in the last 24 hours:
- Track misalignment between Aburg-Goldbach and Laufach from July 28, 2026, at 5:38 p.m. until approximately July 29, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Result: Extended travel time due to a detour.
- Points malfunction in Fulda from July 28, 2026, at 7:55 p.m. until July 28, 2026, at 11:45 p.m. Result: Extended travel time due to a detour.
- A passenger was injured near Bad Schallerbach in Austria while the train was en route to Hungary. As a result, the train had to be stopped. It took several hours for a new train operator with sufficient knowledge of the route to arrive at the train. Due to the delay in resuming the journey, the train is no longer operating within its regular time slots and is therefore making very slow progress.
- Point failure at Hannover-Linden Hafen from July 28, 2026, at 4:42 p.m. until July 28, 2026, at 9:55 p.m. Result: Travel time extension due to hose-based repair work on the opposite track.
- Damage to a locomotive belonging to another rail carrier between Roth and Schwabach from July 29, 2026, at 2:32 a.m. to July 29, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Result: Delays due to the use of a hose method on the opposite track.
- Point failure between Weddel/Braunschweig and Schmiedekamp from July 28, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. until approximately July 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Result: Extended travel times due to track clearing operations on the opposite track.
- Major disruption due to a train derailment between Assenheim and Bruhköbel since July 16, 2026, at 10:38 a.m., expected to last until August 10, 2026. Result: longer travel times due to rerouting and associated line congestion.
- Infrastructure congestion in the Port of Hamburg. Result: massive shunting delays
- Dispositive inflow control in Hamburg has remained in effect without change since March 10, 2026. Trains are sometimes denied access to the Hamburg rail network.
- Dispositive inflow control in Bremerhaven has remained in effect without change since May 10, 2026. Trains are sometimes denied access to the Bremerhaven rail network.
- Phase 2 of the Fulda construction project began on July 11, 2026, and is scheduled to run through July 30, 2026. We have received some special routes with extensive detours, but we are still awaiting a large number of responses from DB InfraGo.
- Closure of the right bank of the Rhine from July 10 to September 11, 2026
- The comprehensive renovation between Nuremberg and Regensburg has been extended from July 10 to July 31, 2026.
We must expressly point out that any event occurring in addition to the known construction work will lead to significant delays.
The planned detour routes are completely overloaded and are now, for example, unavailable for large portions of traffic due to the Nidderau derailment (Main-Weser Railway).
During nighttime operations, rail traffic has now come to a complete standstill for a week.
There is a severe shortage of rolling stock—locomotives and cars—as well as train crews at every end!
Trains are arriving at their destination terminals with significant delays!
- At the domestic terminals, this generally means processing on the next day—a delay of 24 hours.
- At seaports, slots are not being met; special slots, let alone handling of excess volumes, are being rejected by the terminals.
This situation will inevitably lead to train cancellations, which will affect the entire network!
Due to the circumstances, delays continue to occur at the seaport and inland terminals. These delays have a significant impact on the stability and punctuality of our network. We are making daily efforts to minimize the impact on your bookings as much as possible. Our scheduling department will continue to inform you of any affected bookings on a case-by-case basis. In order to avoid incorrect tours, please check the availability of the loading units before acceptance inland or at the seaport and take our advice notes and order-related information into account.
- Long-term construction work between Nuremberg – Regensburg – Passau from February 6, 2026 to December 15, 2026. During this period, there will be two different diversions with adjusted train lengths:
- July 12 – September 16 -> 620 m via Landshut/Plattling -> 23 cars
- September 16 – timetable change -> 590 m via Salzburg -> 22 cars
- Due to the longer distance and increased utilization of the alternative routes, delays are to be expected. Further restrictions cannot yet be fully predicted. We will inform you separately about these. This mainly affects our services to Hungary.
For the area of seaport terminals, we would like to point out that your cooperation as a potential terminal customer is also urgently desired.
With regard to deadlines, please refer to our General Terms and Conditions. Delivery deadlines or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed. These presuppose unhindered transport conditions on rail and road.
