The Deisser Group, a leading provider of first- and last-mile container transport services in the Middle Neckar region, is reshaping its leadership structure. As of 1 March 2026, Sascha Schittenhelm will take over as Managing Director.

Sascha Schittenhelm brings extensive expertise in logistics and vehicle technology, particularly in the field of modern heavy-duty trucks, alongside many years of experience in fleet management. His background gives him a keen understanding of day-to-day operational demands as well as the needs of truck drivers – an important asset in a market increasingly shaped by technology and efficiency.

His career to date spans both medium-sized family businesses and major corporate environments, including Albert Huthmann GmbH & Co. KG, Veolia Umweltservice Süd GmbH & Co. KG and MAN Truck & Bus Deutschland GmbH, where he held senior roles in service and technical management.

Sascha Schittenhelm succeeds Eugen Deisser, who founded the company and has shaped its development for more than 25 years. Eugen Deisser will support the transition in an advisory capacity until the end of 2026 to ensure continuity and stability. Together with Maximilian Deisser (Operations) and Thomas Kraatz (Sales), Schittenhelm will form the new management team and assume overall responsibility for the group.

This leadership change comes in the first year following the acquisition of the Deisser Group by EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH (EGIM), a Hamburg-based provider of intermodal transport solutions for maritime containers. The acquisition was signed on 12 May 2025 and has been effective retroactively from 1 January 2025. Despite the shift in ownership, the Deisser Group will continue to operate independently, maintain its established name and remain a neutral service provider for the region.

Christopher Beplat, Managing Director of EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH, commented:
“By appointing Sascha Schittenhelm, the Deisser Group gains a leader who combines strong technical knowledge with hands-on operational experience. His profile is an excellent fit for strengthening Deisser as an independent company. We look forward to working together and further enhancing Deisser’s role as a trusted partner in southern Germany.”

Sascha Schittenhelm added: “The Deisser Group has earned a strong position in the market and deep trust among its customers. My aim is to build on this foundation and develop it further together with the Deisser team. We will continue to stay close to our customers, remain agile in day-to-day operations and stay open to new ideas. I am excited about the journey ahead.”
