Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
please be informed about a major traffic interruption of our Budapest traffic going on since 03.10. in Austria.
Reason for that was a cable fire along the route in Austria. Resulting from this interruption and the following repair works, a massive congestion between Vienna and Heygeshalom station built up. The duration was from 03.10. 9:15h until 04.10. 9:00h. At this point the first freight trains were allows to start again. Additionally, starting at the 05.10. 12:00h till 06.10. 20:00h damaged overhead wire. After that the borderstation Hegyeshalom was congested with parked trains.
By yesterday 06.10. repairs were done, but the congestion in both directions forced the Hungarian Railway Authorities to restrict the traffic on their side as Heygeshalom cannot accommodate any further trains at the moment.
Resulting from this, our schedule is still very likely to be further affected in the following days. maybe even weeks.
Our disposition will inform you about which order is affected. Updated information to be provided once at hand.
