Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
as a matter of routine, we would like to provide you with an overview of current and upcoming events within our rail operations. This includes information from the area of the network operator as well as information from the environment of the connected seaport terminals.
- ACCIDENT at a railroad crossing between Bremen and Bremerhaven near Bremen Burg. Due to a railroad crossing malfunction, there was an accident involving a car this morning, resulting in a fatality. The crossing and overhead lines were so badly damaged that no train traffic to and from Bremerhaven is possible. There is currently no estimate as to when the line will be operational again. As a result, various services have been completely canceled or are running with significant delays. This closure will continue to have an impact for several days and will also affect the entire network.
- Unscheduled overhead line work in the Mitte Höhe Eichenberg area, causing delays of approximately 4 hours for all northbound trains.
- The dispositive inflow control system in the Port of Hamburg has been in place since July 3, 2025. This has repeatedly led to delays in the allocation of slots at the terminals.
Due to the circumstances, delays continue to occur at the seaport and inland terminals. These delays have a significant impact on the stability and punctuality of our network. We are making daily efforts to minimize the impact on your bookings as much as possible. Our scheduling department will continue to inform you of any affected bookings on a case-by-case basis. In order to avoid incorrect tours, please check the availability of the loading units before acceptance inland or at the seaport and take our advice notes and order-related information into account.
- Replacement construction of the Finkenwerder Bridge. Access to the EUROKOMBI and HHLA Burchardkai terminals will be closed daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. between October 3 and October 6, 2025. We will take this closure into account in our holiday arrangements for German Unity Day on October 3.
- Construction work between Nuremberg, Regensburg, and Passau from February 6, 2026, to December 15, 2026. During this period, there will be various diversions with different effects. On the diversion via Salzburg, trains will only be able to run with 20 cars, and on the diversion via Plattling/Landshut, only with 18 cars. Delays are to be expected due to the longer distance and increased utilization of the alternative routes. Further restrictions cannot yet be fully predicted. We will inform you separately about this. This mainly affects our transport services to Hungary.
- Construction work between Bremen and Bremerhaven from October 2, 7:00 a.m. to October 6, 8:00 a.m. During this time, the route will be completely closed. A detour is only possible via private tracks with diesel traction. This detour has limited capacity and is associated with additional costs. We will inform you separately about how to proceed. This affects all traffic to and from Bremerhaven.
For the area of seaport terminals, we would like to point out that your cooperation as a potential terminal customer is also urgently desired.
With regard to deadlines, please refer to our General Terms and Conditions GTC .Delivery deadlines or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed. These presuppose unhindered transport conditions on rail and road.
