EGIM I Newsletter I Current Situation in Railtraffic I No. 11

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

As a matter of routine, we would like to provide you with an overview of current and upcoming events within our rail operations. This includes information from the area of the network operator as well as information from the environment of the connected seaport terminals.

  • The opening of the rail-side access to the Port of Hamburg after the DEGES closure was delayed by 1.5 hours
  • The loading delay at HHLA Terminal Burchardkai started with a 6-hour delay, which has now built up to 15-16 hours.
  • Yesterday morning, the HPA introduced the dispositive inflow control. Trains are only allowed to enter the Port of Hamburg’s infrastructure once the HPA has given the go-ahead, regardless of their slots.
  • In Bermerhaven, the dispositive inflow control was also introduced.

Further topics on the routes ->

  • Line between Bremen Sebaldsbrück and Bremen closed due to an overhead line fault. The detour is via Osnabrück, if still possible.
  • Line between Lüneburg and Celle closed due to an overhead line fault. Here too, the detour is partly via Osnabrück
  • Line between Bremen and Delmenhorst closed due to a fire in a residential building. No detour, all trains are held back.
  • The line between Unterlüß and Eschede is overloaded because 3 of our trains alone are being denied entry to Hamburg due to the loading delay at the Burchrdkai and the dispositive feed control.

Due to the circumstances, delays continue to occur at the seaport and inland terminals. These delays have a significant impact on the stability and punctuality of our network. We are making daily efforts to minimize the impact on your bookings as much as possible. Our scheduling department will continue to inform you of any affected bookings on a case-by-case basis. In order to avoid incorrect tours, please check the availability of the loading units before acceptance inland or at the seaport and take our advice notes and order-related information into account.

The HPA informed us about further construction measures in the Port of Hamburg. The replacement construction of the Finkenwerder Bridge should be mentioned here in particular. The HHLA Burchardkai and EUROGATE Hamburg terminals cannot be reached by rail during the following time windows.

  • 02.08.2025 6:00 a.m. to 03.08.2025 6:00 a.m.
  • 09.08.2025 6:00 a.m. to 10.08.2025 6:00 a.m.
  • 03.10.2025 7:00 a.m. to 03.10.2025 6:00 p.m.
  • 04.10.2025 7:00 a.m. to 04.10.2025 6:00 p.m.
  • 05.10.2025 7:00 a.m. to 05.10.2025 6:00 p.m.
  • 06.10.2025 7:00 a.m. to 06.10.2025 12:00 p.m.

We must also expect that the opening of the route will not always be on time and that there may be backlog effects as a result. We will submit a special timetable separately shortly.

For the area of seaport terminals, we would like to point out that your cooperation as a potential terminal customer is also urgently desired.

With regard to deadlines, please refer to our General Terms and Conditions https://www.egim.eu/agb/ Delivery deadlines or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed. These presuppose unhindered transport conditions on rail and road.
