In October 2025, two major infrastructure projects will affect rail access to the ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven for several days.
Please find all relevant details below to help you plan your transports accordingly.
Hamburg: Finkenwerder Bridge Replacement
Rail access will be closed for several days in the Waltershof area. The Eurogate and Burchardkai (CTB) terminals will not be accessible via the rail network during these time slots:
- Friday, October 3, 2025 – 07:00h to 18:00h
- Saturday, October 4, 2025 – 07:00h to 18:00h
- Sunday, October 5, 2025 – 07:00h to 18:00h
- Monday, October 6, 2025 – 07:00h to 12:00h
Please refer to the timetable below for the exact loading and unloading times of our trains during this period.
Bremerhaven: Full Rail Line Closure (Bremen – Lübberstedt)
Please be advised that due to signal box work being carried out by DB InfraGO, the line between Bremen Central Station and Lübberstedt will be completely closed during the following period.
- Thursday, October 2, 2025 07:00h to Monday, October 6, 2025 08:00h
During this period, we will reach the terminals in Bremerhaven using diesel traction via a detour route. Due to the considerable additional time required, arrival and departure times at the terminals in Bremerhaven will be delayed. Please refer to the timetable below for the exact loading and unloading times of our trains during this period.
Construction site and holiday schedule for “Tag der deutschen Einheit”
Please find below the holiday schedule for “Tag der deutschen Einheit”. This will apply to our national train system from October 1, 2025 to October 8, 2025.
Please be advised that there are specific loading and unloading times and restrictions for transporting dangerous goods.
Please be advised that, as a precaution, there may be delays in unloading due to the holidays and ongoing construction sites. Short-term changes, such as those recently implemented at the terminals served in Hamburg, are also possible. In exceptional circumstances, it may be necessary to unload trains prior to the scheduled unloading date.
With regard to deadlines, please refer to our General Terms and Conditions GTC. Delivery deadlines or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed. These presuppose unhindered transport conditions on rail and road.
