EGIM acquires Deisser Group

EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH (EGIM), a leading provider of intermodal transport solutions for maritime containers headquartered in Hamburg, has announced the acquisition of the Deisser Group in Stuttgart. The agreement, signed on 12 May 2025, takes effect retroactively from 1 January 2025. The Deisser Group is a market leader in first and last-mile container transport by truck in the Neckar region.

This strategic move further strengthens EGIM’s position in combined rail and road transport, ensuring reliability and high service quality, even amid volatile market conditions. The Deisser Group contributes decades of expertise, exceptional service standards, and a modern, sustainably managed fleet – laying a strong foundation for future growth and a resilient, future-ready transport network.

For the Deisser Group, the acquisition offers a stable, future-oriented succession solution. Company founder Eugen Deisser was seeking a strategic partner who would not only preserve the company’s values and vision but also ensure continuity for its employees, customers, and partners.

The Deisser Group will continue operating as an independent company under its established name, maintaining its status as a neutral service provider. Eugen Deisser will remain as Managing Director, actively overseeing the transition. All existing employees will be retained, and current contracts will remain fully valid. Moreover, EGIM is committed to ensuring seamless and reliable continuity in the Deisser Group’s strong customer relationships.

Eugen Deisser, Managing Director of the Deisser Group, comments: “Twenty-five years ago, I founded the Deisser Group – and EGIM was one of our first customers. Today, we have come full circle. I am confident in placing the company in trustworthy hands and look forward to personally guiding the next steps.”

Christopher Beplat, Managing Director of EUROGATE Intermodal, states:
“By acquiring the Deisser Group, we are gaining a company that shares our values and commitment to quality. Integrating our own trucking assets is a logical next step delivering clear benefits for our customers.”
