    EUROGATE Intermodal renames its subsidiary Floyd to EUROGATE Rail Hungary

    EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH (EGIM),Hamburg-based provider of combined transport by rail and road, today announced Floyd Zrt., its Hungarian rail subsidiary, will begin operating under the new name EUROGATE Rail Hungary Zrt., effective immediately.

    Lars Hedderich to leave EUROGATE Intermodal as part of corporate transformation

    Lars Hedderich (58) will leave the EUROGATE Group on December 31, 2021, effectively stepping down from his role as Managing Director of EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH (EGIM). The move comes as part of the “Future EUROGATE” change process, which aims to permanently reduce the leading European shipping-line-independent container terminal group’s personnel and material costs by EUR 84 million. Christopher Beplat, appointed Managing Director EGIM in June 2020, will take over sole management of the company. He will be accompanied by long-time authorised signatories Niels Riedel (Sales) and André Gernhardt (Operations).

    The private rail service company boxXpress.de, which specialises in container transport, will be even more environmentally friendly in the future. Beginning January 2021, the company will exclusively use “TüStrom Bahn Natur,” electricity generated 100 percent from hydropower.

    EUROGATE Intermodal appoints Christopher Beplat as a new managing director

    Christopher Beplat (44) has been appointed as a new Managing Director for EUROGATE Intermodal (EGIM) alongside Lars Hedderich and Thomas Meyer. Having joined the company on 1 June 2020, Christopher Beplat assumes his role from Thomas Meyer, who will retire at the end of September. In the coming months, Christopher Beplat will work side-by-side Thomas Meyer to enable a smooth handover of the business areas of operations, controlling and procurement.

    EUROGATE Intermodal extends European network

    EUROGATE Intermodal (EGIM) expands its service portfolio. With effect from January 2020, the Hamburg-based provider of international intermodal container transport will offer up to seven round-trip departures per week between German seaports and Budapest. Of these, four round trips per week will run directly between Germany and Hungary and three connections per week will be handled by EGIM via its Munich hub, providing links to further European destinations.
