The closure is due to construction work connecting the A26-West motorway to the A7.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>More details available here:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndr.de\/nachrichten\/hamburg\/Hamburger-Hafenbahn-Grosse-Sperrung-am-ersten-Juli-Wochenende,hafenbahn160.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.ndr.de\/nachrichten\/hamburg\/Hamburger-Hafenbahn-Grosse-Sperrung-am-ersten-Juli-Wochenende,hafenbahn160.html<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>What to Expect<\/h2>\n<p>The closure will halt all rail freight traffic to and from the Waltershof container terminals (HHLA and EUROGATE).<br \/>\nHeavy disruption is also expected in the lead-up and days following the closure, with wider impacts anticipated across the maritime supply chain.<br \/>\nIndustry-wide, a longer period of backlog is expected.<\/p>\n<h2>Our Contingency Plan: Rerouting via DUSS-Billwerder<\/h2>\n<p>To ensure continued\u2014if reduced\u2014network service during the closure, we are preparing alternative routes in close coordination with the DUSS-Billwerder terminal in Hamburg (Halskestra\u00dfe).<\/p>\n<p>Planned rerouting applies to the following corridors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ulm<\/li>\n<li>Kornwestheim<\/li>\n<li>Munich<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note: these rerouted services will require truck transfers between the Hamburg seaport terminals and DUSS-Billwerder for pre- and post-carriage.<\/p>\n<h2>Cost and Handling Overview<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Rail traction to and from DUSS-Billwerder will be provided at no additional charge (based on f.o.r.).<\/li>\n<li>Handling and any applicable storage fees will be charged according to DUSS rates.<\/li>\n<li>For truck transfers between the seaport and DUSS-Billwerder, please budget EUR 300.00 per leg.<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively, you may choose to arrange your own truck handling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Booking Capacity<\/h2>\n<p>To support timely planning and allocation, please confirm your capacity requirements for rerouted services via DUSS-Billwerder by 16 April 2025.<br \/>\nYour feedback is essential for shaping our response and ensuring we meet demand as effectively as possible.<\/p>\n<h2>We\u2019re Here to Help<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019re committed to keeping your cargo moving\u2014even in exceptional situations\u2014and will continue to provide updates as needed.<br \/>\nIf you have questions or would like to discuss your options, our team is happy to assist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scheduled from 4 July to 8 July 2025 A full suspension of rail freight services in the western section of the Port of Hamburg is planned from 4 to 8 July 2025.
